Rocky Mountain Con 2025
I'm going to start out about this con with a plug for them. If you have ever wanted to do a panel, but want to start small, this is the con for you to do it at. Just reach out to them. They really need help with paneling. This year I was the only panelist. I was supposed to do 2 panels, but when I got there and found out that there were no other panelists I volunteered to run 2 other shorter panels as well just so the con could have more to it. In the past I have attended good panels at this con, and I have no idea why there were not others running panels. I also found it weird that the con had cosplay guests, and they weren't doing any paneling. PLEASE, volunteer to do panels for this con. Otherwise it's just one of their toy shows that they run several times a year.
There were cosplayers there, both as formal guests and just your con goers. This con is super laid back so you could also use it if you want to test out a cosplay.
Cap for Kids was also there trying to raise money for their charity. Also one of their staff was helping with the con, and helped set up the TV and microphones for my panels. So I'd like to give a public thanks for the help.
The con also had capsule machines. Prices varied from $1-6. They even had machines where you had a chance to get a key to a locker. I decided to try the $1 capsule key machines just for the fun of it and I got a key (see video below).
Since our geeky family also has rabbits, Mommy Geek wanted to try the rabbit machine.
Her rabbit is really cute. It looks like it would fit into the Alice in Wonderland world. I also tried one of the $1 Pokémon pins and got a Gengar pin. I saw a lot of people having fun with these machines and they are one of my personal favorite parts of this con.
