Why

I wanted to start a blog about being Geek in Colorado. This will include events (like conventions) and reviews of products (both old and new). My reviews of different geeky products will include what can be found in Colorado and where to find them. 

My geekiness started when I was very little. I was the child of a geek and even attended my first convention at the age of three. Being a geek has always been part of my life. It is only recently that being a geek has become cool and this evolution has been of much interest to me. The good thing about it is that it has made getting products easier and there is much more to do. The bad thing is it has brought in a lot of people to the “scene” that do not actually care about the subjects, but are only taking part to look “cool.” It’s still odd to me that being geeky is now mainstream cool, but let’s run with it for as long as we can.

The opinions on this website will mostly be my own with guest writers every now and then as I try to expand the scope of what this blog will be. I am a very direct and blunt person and will tell you what I think and feel without reservation. You can take what I say with a grain of salt, but I hope that this can still be a place where the geeks of Colorado can find something that interests them.

Some of the things I do are very unique. One of these things is helping to make board games assessable to the blind. I have a friend that I work with to turn your generic games into a blind friendly version that she can then play with family and friends. I will include reviews of games from this perspective as well so that geeks that may have disabilities can learn about games they may be able to play with a little help.
