The Infinity War (Sept 4 (1992))

I found this comic at the All C's Collector's Showcase 2025. The comic had $9.99 on it, but they had put it in the $1 section to clear it out. I decided to grab it to see more of the original version of the infinity war.

In a way I was sad that for the movie the rushed through so much. This comic shows how much more complex the war was and this storyline played around much more with the different dimensions and timelines. From the movies the closest to get a feel for this was the Doctor Strange movie when he is trying to fix the rifts. That complex 'madness' is the closest to showing what the comics were like.

I did get a random comic from the larger Infinity War saga, so I did feel a little lost and it seemed that the comics did much more with Adam Warlock then the movies did. The movies made him feel like a random add on, whereas that comics made him feel more like a driving part of the plot.

The cover was kind of cool with the fold out showing the characters about to fight a version of themselves. This part of the comic was a little confusing, but I was able to struggle through to get to the other side. I know that comic makers assume that readers have all the background, but that isn't the case and they need to make each comic make sense in some way. I was able to get understand the comic because of having read other older comics and having seen the movies, but people with less of a background would have been lost. I would rate this comic average (so 3 stars or a C) for a comic from the early 1990s.
