June Smaller Geeky Events (2024)

1st-2nd: Rocky Mountain Con's Comic Collector Showcase
This is always a great little event. RMC had their booth right next to the door. Even though the showcase focuses on comics, you can find other things there like action figures and Funko figures. The next mini show for RMC is in August.

29th: The Night Market on Havana Street
On the surface this looked more like a cultural event instead of a geeky event, but this is one of those events that crossed over the two. Many Otaku are interested in different aspects of Asian culture even outside of Japanese culture.
They had an anime themed car there and I found out that they have invited others to bring in their themed cars as well. You can see these cars at the local cons as well. This car was there representing Vertex Decals (@nightmustang). So if you want to geek out your car this is one of the many local companies that can help you with that.

They had a Kpop dance area where different songs were played for about 30 seconds each and people could jump in and out if they knew the dance for each song. I was amazed that so many people had memorized the different dances from the music videos.

They also brought out one of the local Lion & Dragon dance groups. These performances are always high energy and it never gets old seeing them.

They had a few food trucks and local restaurants with booths set up. The food was a little pricy, but some good deals could be found.
A few places were also giving out free products to help advertise their businesses or organizations. I'm a fan of kimchi so I was excited to get this one. I'll eventually post a review of it In My Mouth Colorado.

These Night Markets will be held once a month through October, and I would highly recommend getting to one. Parking does fill up quickly.
