For us the day started before the sun was even up so we could get our spot at All C's. We always get there early because All C's gives out great prizes. The first ten people in line get a chance to pick a big prize, and then they give out smaller prizes to more people as long as supplies last.
This is a picture looking into the store from the door. The large prizes are in the middle on the counter. Both Mommy Geek and I didn't find any of the large prizes interesting this year, so we left them behind for people that may be able to get more enjoyment out of them.
In this photo at the top you can see the smaller prizes we went with. We both went for the Pokémon stuff. I of course went with the one that I can have fun building. For the comic books, the top and the first one one the bottom left were the ones we got for free and then the rest of the bottom row were ones we bought.
Aurora Public Library
These were the giveaways at the library. No staff was watching them and people were grabbing a lot. These were also not normal Free Comic Book Day comics. They were from weird series, most of which I had never heard of.
I limited myself to just four which is within the normal amount that the stores let you take depending on the store. I did grab 2 lanyards though since Mommy Geek was waiting in the car. Some school was having their graduation on that middle green plaza and there was no parking.
Monkey Paw Toys
After the library we rushed over to Monkey Paw Toys. I wish we would have skipped the library, because Monkey Paw Toys opened at 11 and they too were giving out prizes to the first 10 in line. The family in front of us got the last large prize. They also had Monster drinks for the runners up.
They did have some smaller Free Comic Book Day giveaways in this little area right before the comics.
Hall of Justice Comics
This year again they had their comics in these displays for people to grab. This place was super busy. I found a little plushie that I wanted, but the line wrapped around the store and they only had one cash register going. By this point I was in a lot of pain and could not stand that long. They really needed like 3 or 4 registers going. They just couldn't keep up with the turnout. So I left empty handed. Mommy Geek and I went back the next day to get the plushie (a cute zombie bat) and some more comics.
This year they had a lot less going on outside the store and there was no food truck. There was someone selling donuts and macaroons at $4 a pop which was way overpriced for their quality. (Yes we got some, but only because Mommy Geek was hungry).
Mile High Comics
Most of the crowds had cleared out by the time we had gotten there.
To greet you was Onyx.
This had some very interesting information on it that people should be aware of. It is great to have a comic book store willing to openly
All C's South
The last stop of the day was All C's South.
They were mostly cleared out by the time we got there. Mommy Geek got the last pack of cards and I got two sheets of the Pokémon stickers. The most stickers were a good size for Mommy Geek to add to her cane.
