Colorado Anime Fest 2024: Getting Ready
First off I want to start out with warning everyone to be safe. We have a huge storm hitting Colorado and at the time of this writing there has already been over 15 inches of snow. The storm is currently estimated to end by noon on Friday, but travel Friday and even Saturday may be dicey. At present it is looking like we will not be able to cover Friday due to still digging out. If you do trek out make sure to have a shovel, normal winter gear and kitty litter for traction. Yes it is that bad out there. Be careful, be safe.
The con this year is running the 15th-17 at the Marriott Tech Center (where it has been in the past). This year they have expanded the parking options with them adding the lot across the street for $25 cash a day. The only problem with this is that with the weather it may be dangerous to try and cross that street. Even on a good day cars zoom by there, but with this weather it will be slippery for both drivers and walkers. I would recommend getting their early if you have any disabilities that would make walking in these conditions even worse since parking may fill up fast at the main hotel.
This year's guests include Ryan Bartley, Bill Butts, Ricco Fajardo, Bridget Hoffman, Faye Mata, Joel McDonald, and more.
Tickets this year range from $25-$150 depending on what day you go and if you want the VIP option.
I checked the hotel online and it looks like they do still have some rooms available. It looks like the rooms start at $169 and go up from there if you want to add things like parking and breakfast.
For food in this weather and the possible loss of your parking spot it looks like you will be limited to just eating at the hotel if you do not bring your own food. If you go to the main restaurant be prepared to lose an hour or more even if they are not busy. This is one of the slowest restaurants I have ever eaten at. There is also a coffee shop that has some food offerings, but they close early and there is a gift shop that has snacks and has slightly more expanded hours. Sometimes they turn the far end of their restaurant into a grab and go place that has slightly cheaper food.
