Shiki Dreams by Prismajic

There has been an increasing trend to create themed experiences and Shiki Dreams is one of these. It is located in Colorado Mills Mall in Lakewood. This experience pulls loosely from Japanese folklore. In Japanese shiki means four seasons. The focus creature kind of looks like a yeti, but is more like a forest spirit (in a way it could also be either a kami or yokai). In this adventure you use a black light flashlight to explore the world of Shiki and you can also do their scavenger hunt while you activate 'special' things to happen.

Your journey begins through the sun doors after you watch a quick film.

You don't know what is black light active until you shine your light on them.

This is one of the things you can trigger by standing in Shiki's foot prints.

Be careful to look into every little nook because there are many hidden gems and they are easy to miss.

Also don't forget to look up.

This one was so tiny that it had a magnifying glass near by so you could see the little people and all of the detail. Even though it was super small it was one of my favorites.

These boxes had lots of different scenes and things in them.

Finding Shiki can be hard since he may not always be big.

I was a little disappointed in the souvenirs they had. They could have been making a lot of money if they had plushies of either Shiki or the dragon (watch out for that one, it will get you wet).

Attached to Shiki Dreams was a themed bar called the Night Owl. This was a very whimsical area and would be great for those that like Renaissance festivals or cottage core.
The drinks and food are pricy for their size, but worth a try.

Overall, I would recommend this place. I think Otaku could have fun here, but if you are hard core into Japanese culture then you may get annoyed with how they played with different aspects of Japanese culture and folklore. At the same time I think things like this are great to spark peoples' interest in new subjects.
