Day 1
After I had checked in at the con and gotten my badge I had to do a quick restroom stop. I know this is a weird way to start my review of the con, but the things you hear in the restroom... Any way, there had been what looked like 2 teenagers in there when I went into the stall. The an older woman came in, who I assumed was their mother, saying that she thought that something was going on since it looked like 96% of the people were wearing masks. She then proceed to 'bitch' at the kids that if masks were required it was stupid and that the con had better to be ready to give her the money back for her ticket because she would not stay. She was super aggressive about this and I felt sorry for the kids since they were just looking depressed when I came out and didn't say anything too her. If you are apposed to a basic safety requirement maybe you should read the con's website before you go. I guess that she didn't understand that the masks were still required because this con understands that many in the geek/Otaku community have health conditions and this basic requirement helps them to be able to attend. After this incident I didn't hear anyone else complain about the mask requirements. I think that this is because most of the people in the Otaku community understand that this is to help people.

They had some cool con merch including cute pouches. |
|
Staff were setting up the items for the auction. |
|
In this picture I was trying to capture the paper cranes that they were making. Guests could help out as well. |
|
This year's game room had lots of different board games to choose from and each year it looks like they are getting more and more. |
Day 2
Day 3
|
They had this cool backdrop set up so that people could take pictures. |
The Charity Auction
Stand Out Cosplays
Overall the con this year was both successful and fun to attend. Even though the con started off with a stark reminder of why people need a safe space to be themselves, it is nice to know that there are community gatherings where they can find these safe spaces.
