Batman #315: Danger on the Wing (1979)
Batman isn’t the only thing in the sky in this Gotham tale.
A criminal has found using kites to be an effective way to help him commit
crimes. Batman has to figure out how to get ahead of this criminal that even
turns on his own men when he finds he no longer needs them.
Not much to really say about this comic. It’s done in the
classic Batman style. I did feel like it was really text heavy for not really
saying a lot. It could have cut out a lot of the conversation and still would
have gotten the main points across, but I feel this way about a lot of older
comics. This was one of the many comics given to me by a friend of my mom's and I've been trying to read my way through them before getting rid of them.
3 Stars out of 5 or a C, because it was just your average
comic for the time period.
What I did find interesting in this comic was the
advertisements for other things in it. The first one was for Star Trek the
motion picture.
The next one I found slightly confusing. It was for dressing
up with western wear. I don’t normally picture geeks dressing up like cowboys.
I feel that this ad was aiming at the wrong population. At the same time it is
also a reflection of the times in how it used a sexy female cartoon to try and
boost sales.
