Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus (2010)

 

For a shark movie this one was not done well at all. The special effects are painful to look at and it didn't even look like they tried to do any blending with the scenes. The plot of the movie was that there had been at least on past run in with a mega shark and there is a military scientist that has been working on an experiment with sound to repel sharks. A mega shark attacks his ship, his fiancee is killed, and he joins a new military team to go after a shark. Then there is a side plot where there is a want to be pirate that is dealing with a crocosaurus. Mix this together and you have a mess that needs to be cleaned up.

The plot of the movie seemed good enough if the acting would have been better. Most of the actors were horrible. The main female character was played by Sarah Lieving. Even though she was supposed to be an agent that works with the military, the performance was so stiff that it was robotic. Jaleel White is one of the main characters and his performance was actually the best out of the bunch. You may recognize him as Urkel from Family Matters. He actually did very well with this role and it was a stark contrast to his happy go lucky Urkel. Another face you may recognize is Robert Picardo. He has been in tons of geeky shows and movies like Star Trek: Voyager and Stargate. This role for him was just the classic military leader and nothing really stood out good or bad about it.

Terminator much? Yah, she was that robotic.

2 stars out of 5 or a D. I gave it this score because it was just bad, and not in a good way, for a B movie. It would be near the bottom of the mass produced sci-fi movies that keep getting turned out for straight to T.V. viewing.
