Aquarium of the Dead (2021)

 

Things start out with an octopus that goes wild after it dies and then more animals start showing up infected and dead. The cause is bad injections that were not disposed of when they were told that there was issues with them. At least the guy that didn't destroy them gets punched in the face for it. The zombie animals hunt by sound because they are blind.

The acting in this film was about what you would expect for a B movie. I was surprised when I recognized Vivica A. Fox. So here's a spoiler.... she dies and I was very disappointed in her death. It could have been so much better and more meaning full. 

Then there was the special effects. They were a little below average for the quality and there was no question that they were fake. Even the human zombie animal interaction was not done well. The one thing that really distracted me was the makeup effects on the actors. I didn't bother to look up the makeup artist, but I think they had to be a student. The type of damage they could handle was very limited. Then the worst part was that several actors had the exact same injury on their head that was slightly rounded like they were using a stencil and didn't track that they were putting it on the exact same spot. Just bad workmanship all around.

Based on everything I would give it 2 stars out of 5 or a D mostly because of how annoyed I got at the makeup. If it's late at night with nothing else on I guess you could watch it for the zombie star fish.
