Bloodshot (2020)
Bloodshot had actually been released in March to theaters, just before COVID shut everything down. At that time I had not been able to catch it. Then I stumbled upon it for free on Comcast's On Demand. Since it was based off of a comic I decided to watch it. My only previous exposure to Bloodshot was a quick comic snippet in one of this year’s Free Comic Book Day comics. This movie was amazingly good and well done. The movie was action packet and yet had a strong storyline to pull it forward. The special effects were highly detailed and how they did the deconstruction and reconstruction of Vin every time he got injured fully kept my attention.
While looking up a picture to add above I stumbled upon an article where they said that Jared Leto was supposed to be the lead, but then Vin Diesel got switched in. I am a fan of Jared Leto (like I feel that he has been the best actor to take up the Joker), but I do not see him being able to pull off this character. Jared’s specialty is the offbeat characters like his character in Ghost in the Shell. Bloodshot needed an actor that has played military type characters. I could have seen a few actors in this like The Rock or Channing Tatum. The only thing is that I’m not sure how I feel about Guy Pearce. He has played both good and bad guys, but I have never considered him a strong actor. Even with that I actually feel that this was one of his best performances and it still was just o.k.
Overall I would give this movie 5 stars
out of 5 or an A.
