Santo vs. Frankenstein’s Daughter (1972)
So
the version of this movie I caught was a dubbed one on El Rey. El Rey plays a
lot of older B movies. This film was originally filmed in Spanish and the main
character Santo is the classic Mexican wrestler. In real life he was also a
wrestler as well. I know that the mask of the wrestler is very important to the
person’s image, but I wish they would have showed him without it. This movie
would have been much better if it would have showed more of the aging/antiaging
process more. I know that at the time this movie was made special effects were
still developing, but other movies even from earlier time periods showed
transformations better. The one thing that bugged me was how much they had the
women scream at everything. I know that females during this time were still
viewed as the damsel in distress, but they just seemed to be afraid of
everything. 3 out of 5 stars or a C.
