Buffy The High School Years and Plants vs. Zombies (2017)

This was a 2017 Free Comic Book Day comic. The Buffy part of the comic had art work that reminded me a some types of manga art. I really liked the end where the little girl asks her mom “Why didn’t you tell me superheroes were real?” after she got to see Buffy in action. It was a cute one shot, but it was good enough to make me want to read more. The Plants vs. Zombies section on the other had had the opposite effect. This could be because I felt it was supposed to be more geared towards kids, but at the same time some sections felt very text heavy. The story line was a little weird and it was unclear on how humans fit into the rivalry. I’ll give the Buff part 5 stars out of 5 or an A, and the Plants vs. Zombies section a 2 or a D.
