NDK (Nan Desu Kan) 2019

This year NDK tried to adjust how they did the lines in relation to people with disabilities. The new rule was that instead of people with disabilities being let in first, they would be allowed to sit at the front of the line, but a person would have to hold what would have been their place in line, and then go in at that point. Whoever came up with that idea needs to be fired. This assumes that everyone with disabilities is with a large group or with at least one other person that is not disabled. So if a disabled person were by themselves or with another disabled person then they were just out of luck. At least by Saturday afternoon someone at NDK figured out this was a bad idea and reversed it to their old policy that did not discriminate against people with disabilities. NDK really needs a disability coordinator on staff to stop ideas like this one and to keep the con ADA compliant. If they already have one on staff then they need to replace them. I would be more than happy to volunteer for this since it seems to be a place where this con could use some help.
