Wingspan
Wingspan would be a middle level game to braille. This game took about
3 sessions or around 6 hours to complete. This was mostly because of the amount
of unique cards it has. The art work of the birds is very beautiful and because
of this Nancy chose to braille card covers instead of the actual cards. This
will preserve the art work for sighted players and allow her to still play.
This is a great option any time you have cards you do not want to damage. Nancy
has been able to find card covers on line for 1000 for around $56. This option
can be expensive and the total cost must also be taken into consideration when
deciding on how to adapt games. As a sighted person I really liked the art work
and the bird facts that were included as flavor next on the cards. I actually
know a wildlife biologist that I think would enjoy this game. I would recommend
it to people who like animals and want to include some learning with their
gaming. Even the scientific name of each bird was on the cards. For the brailling
process I would give the game 4 stars out of 5 or a B. The reason for this is
the unique cards. I like that so many birds were represented, but it added a
lot of time to the brailling process.
