Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs is a good place for geeks to live. Not only
is it a relatively short drive from Denver, but it also hosts both cons and
stores to keep geeks busy and stocked with all things geeky. I actually make
the drive down to the springs at least 4 times each summer to get my fix of
things you actually cannot get in the Denver Metro area right now.
Rainy Day Anime: I like the diversity of both products and
animes that they have here. Their prices are average to what you would expect and
they can have some really random items from both old and new animes. The staff
are friendly and the store has a good vibe overall.
Colorado Springs Flea Market: Flea Markets are great in
general because of all the random items you can find. This one is good because
I have found a lot of toys and anime products there. It's also cheap to get in and most items you can get for a steal.
Colorado Springs Comic Con: I have yet to go to this convention. Mostly because the people who run it did not check on the dates to see if they are competing with other events. This year, 2019, they scheduled it the same weekend as NDK, the major anime convention in Denver. This forces fans to pick which convention to go to or forces them to drive back and forth. This shows poor planning on the part of the admins and does not bode well for how the con is run. This could show that they have other issues as well... (8/5/19).
